Pain Relief Phase Of Care

Congratulations! You are on a journey to heal yourself from within.
You have probably come here thinking that your pain is the “problem” I am going to treat. Pain is not a thing it is a sensation caused by nerve pathology. I must treat the neurological cause of your pain. Although the ultimate goal is for you to feel better, the true goal of chiropractic care is to help you reclaim more optimal neurological function. If the ability to perform normal activities such as to sit, stand, bend forward, sleep, lift, drive and other activities is limited by pain, these are losses of normal body function.
You are in the inflammatory phase of your care. Inflammation within the spine occurs when some form of trauma has damaged your spine. Swelling of the involved spinal joints reduces the blood supply to spinal nerves exiting from between those vertebrae. Your spine must have good motion and symmetry for you to have good stability which then promotes better function. Care in my office helps your body to achieve these goals in two ways. First, gentle Chiropractic care restores normal spinal motion. Secondly, I provide you with posture correction instructions and target exercises you perform at home. These tools assist you to recover more quickly and help prevent further spinal injury from occurring.
I will need good feedback from you so that I can deliver the best care which provides you with the quickest resolution of your condition. I will ask you to be a detective and pay attention to what relieves or aggravates your pain so I can help you to modify activities to help you reduce your pain. Reduced pain and muscle spasms are good indicators that the neuropathy which caused those symptoms is healing. As you proceed with care, your pain should decease in intensity, frequency and distribution. When an original pain of 8 is reduced within a few treatments to a 4, this is a 50% improvement. If your pain was constant and now is reduced by 75 % that is one quarter of the original frequency of pain you had experienced. If the pain originally went down your arm into your hand and is only in your shoulder, it has decreased by at least two thirds. We are on a journey of spinal care that will help you to be able to do more of the things you love to do for longer in your life.
Thank you for allowing me to be your Doctor.
